Tanzanian DC snubs invitation in Malawi: Relations ‘at low ebb’

A Tanzanian district commissioner snubbed an invitation for a new year bash from Malawi, a show of sinking relationship between the two countries.

DC Chirwa (right),says Tanzanian DC snubbed the invitation

Chitipa district commissioner Grace Zione Chirwa told officials in her office, traditional leaders and Zambian invited guests that she had invited the district commissioner from Ilenje in Tanzania and his officials but they did not turn up.

“He told us he was busy with other things,” she said.

This comes when eight Tanzanians are at Mzuzu Prison awaiting trial after they were arrested on suspicion that they were spying on Kayelekera Uranium mine on whether it can produce nuclear power capable of hitting Tanzania.

Malawi and Tanzania are fighting for the ownership of Lake Malawi.

The eight Tanzanians have been charged with criminal trespassing and some Immigration officials from Tanzania were in the country in a bid to secure the release of the eight suspects.

However, a district commissioner from Zambia and his officials attended the year end party and said such activities were beneficial for both countries.

what i see from malawians they are ‘boastful for nothing’, you’ve nothing to compare with tanzanians from economy, infrastructure, entertainment, ‘angel-faced beauties’, tourism etc.
you better discuss about hunger-strike that you are suffering from, as for tanzania has nothing to loose or to gain from you…

This is a well thought out comment, Man Eazy. I don’t really know what is wrong with my fellow crazy and poor Malawians. There are manifold important things to focus on at this oportune moment. We can’t compare ourselves with Tanzanians. They are far better than us in every positive aspect.

First and formost, our DC goofed big time. Take for example in a personal capacity, someone’s is claiming part of your garden, in your right frame of mind, can you invite the same person to cerebral edema with you. Are you taking this issue as a small thing mrs DC? We should not kiss taifas arses just because they are standing on our way to the ocean?! If I was a power behind the curtain, I could have renounced deplomatic relations the very same day they started talking shit! As Bingu did to one British guy who feed us, what… Read more »
