Telekom Networks Malawi launches free internet service for online pages
Malawi’s premier mobile service provider, Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) is pleased to announce the launch of another Smart Data service, Internet.org which will enables customers to visit and use online sites for free.
TNM Chief Commercial Officer Daniel Makata said Internet.org gives free access to useful websites and services to TNM subscribers.
“The launch of Internet.org, which is one of our core Smart data innovation package series under the Smart Data Umbrella brand, comes as a combination, offering free access to a range of basic services, such as health, education, finance, communication, jobs, and other local information,” Makawa said.
Makata said that Internet.org will also offer TNM customers access to a lighter version of Facebook in addition to a range of other online pages.
“Customers can access Internet.org by visiting internet.org from a mobile browser or by downloading the Android application; from there they can access the free services”.
He said that Internet.org will be available for customers to access effective May 14, 2015 “It is our hope that subscribers will use this opportunity of free online pages to get useful information for educational and social needs.
“TNM would like to encourage its subscribers to utilize this opportunity to access information either of education, social among others”, said the Chief Commercial officer.
The launch of free internet.org comes shortly after a free Facebook promotion that TNM has been offering to its customers from January to March this year.
