The blood of the Lamb

When we come to the New Testament and to the death of Jesus on the cross, we find a sacrifice that was filled with a power that the Old Testament sacrificial system could never have. This takes us back to the many lambs that were slaughtered on the night of the Passover night but could not still redeem man.

But, we thank God because we find that the Blood of the Lamb, which was shed on the Cross of Calvary, has the power to redeem man and take care of Man’s problems. This is why the priests and the Levitical system never sat down, all because there work was never completed. This is in contrast with the work of Christ which was a finished work and never required any repetition (Hebrews 10:12).

It is therefore very important for us to see what is it that gives the Blood of the Lamb its mighty power with God on behalf of men, for then we shall understand the conditions on which its full power may be experienced in our lives. It is as the Lamb that Isaiah saw Him, when He prophesied, “He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His Mouth” (Isaiah 53:7).

This mention of the Lamb call to mind the deep humility and self surrender of the Lamb, for it is His disposition that gives its wonderful power with God. Just as it is that the disposition of the Lamb bestows upon the blood and its power, only as we are willing to be partakers of the same disposition of the Lamb that we shall know its power in our life that we may be partakers of His disposition, for it has been made transferable to us by His death.

As partakers of the same disposition, we have a legal right to plead the blood of the Lamb on anything that we desire to have the protection that is given in the name of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God. Plead the Blood of the Lamb on your life, children, and all your family members. This can be for protection, healing, deliverance, cleansing and anything else that you may desire. There are no limits or restrictions when you start pleading the Blood.

If you remember what God did to rescue the first born children of the Israelites when the Angel of the Lord killed the First born of the Egyptians. The Blood that was applied on the door post was symbolic of the Cross of Christ. If that worked during that time, then what more now because we have the Blood of Christ. During that time they had to physically slaughter the animals and apply the blood, while now in the new covenant we do not need to apply. It is all speaking it just by faith in what Jesus Christ has done for us on the Cross of Calvary.

The Blood of the Lamb is available for everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The good news is that we do not need to do anything but just believe. I know people who are struggling with issues that Jesus Christ has already defeated on the Cross of Calvary without realizing that the Blood of the Lamb has already given the victory desired. The Precious blood of the lamb is so powerful; all that is needed is to believe what you say with your mouth.

Rahab the Harlot, after she had rescued the two spies, they promised her the protection of her and her entire family. This was however on a condition that she will bind a line of scarlet thread to the window. This scarlet thread was symbolic to the shed blood of Christ. This was the only condition that was given to her to be rescued together with her father, mother, brethren and her father’s household. The way of salvation was immediately made clear and plain to her; it was a very simple way; all she had to do was to hang a piece of Scarlet cloth on the window. This is also exactly what we need, to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ; and in His Precious Blood.

Believers in Jesus Christ and His finished work also enjoy the same benefits, and probably more than this. The Preciousness of Christ’s Blood, and the Testimony of the Holy Scripture concerning it is the outward token which brings assurance of Salvation and all the benefits to the heart that trust Christ and the shed Blood.

As long as we have applied the Blood of the Lamb, we are protected by the Blood therefore safe. To leave this House of safety, which is safety in Christ and Him crucified, guarantees destruction and loss of salvation. Therefore, apply the Blood of the Lamb for then you will overcome the powers of the darkness. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11).
