Give the people what belongs to them. The land is theirs by virtue of natural justice. The white settlers didnt buy it nor did they ask the people for lease. The government should step aside if it cannot do anything and let the people and the occupier sort things out. If the govt officers ate a bun from the settlers they better return it coz this issue has come for good and will need a solution not arresting and intimidating them. They can never be enough land in the country, not when the population is increasing as it is. The only solution to the land problem is family planning and the people of Thyolo and Mulanje should start practicing that.

My friend this is about indigenous ownership of land. how did these foreigners get this land? via colonialism. You think the people of Mulanje and Thyolo had a say? No they did not. Why should the status quo continue. Why are you protecting the occupier?

Even if you took all the land from the so called colonialist, the land in Mulanje and Thyolo would not be enough to distribute to the people of Mulanje because the number of people is far greater than the land available. Even if you include, the Mulanje mountain top. What the people of Mulanje and Thyolo and the rest of Malawi for that matter are jobs and not land. If you travel on Malawi roads you will note that land that once belonged to indigenous Malawians has been sold to a foreigner who has gone on to build a warehouse.… Read more »
