TNM celebrates Malawi Open Golf 10 years of sponsorship

Malawi’s integrated mobile service and ICT provider, TNM is proud to celebrate ten years of partnership with the Golf union of Malawi through the sponsorship of the largest golf tournament in the country – The Malawi Open Championship.

The Malawi Open is an elite golf tournament organized by the Golf Union of Malawi (GUoM) with sponsorship from TNM and is the largest golf tournament in the country.

TNM’s Chief Officer – Enterprise Services Vishwajeet Deshmukh said it was great to celebrate the uninterrupted golf sponsorship

“The Malawi Open Golf tournament has been one of the key tournaments that has in the development of golf in the country as demonstrated by the level of competition that our golfers have shown on the greens both in both local and international tournaments for the past 10 years,” said Deshmukh.

Deshmukh said TNM remains committed towards development of the sport which provides a platform for business executives to interact and share notes on a wide range of industry, business and national interest issues.

He announced that to celebrate the  decade-long partnership,  the 2017 Malawi Open  tournament will be held from March 31, 9 to April 2 at the Lilongwe Golf Club under the auspices of TNM Digital Transformation campaign.

“Through the digital transformation campaign, TNM has taken a step to introduce Digital Services, By “digital” we mean the broad range of technologies and applications that enable greater efficiency and automation, better decision making, and stronger relationship with customers and other external stakeholders,” he said.

Golf Union of Malawi President Frank Mvalo hailed TNM’s contribution towards development of golf in Malawi.

“TNM has been with us for the past 10 years and has shown passion and commitment in developing golf in the country as it came into our rescue when the union had no sponsorship for the largest golf tournament in the county,” said Mvalo.

Mvalo expressed optimism that the partnership will continue as the union strives to develop professional golf in all categories.

“The union is very appreciative to TNM – 10 years of sponsorship is no mean feat. It is our sincere hope that TNM will continue being always with us in this cream of golf challenge in the country,” he said.
