In keeping with festive season tradition, TNM employees in all the key regions of the country make corporate social responsibility contributions to underprivileged sections of society.

Speaking after presenting the Christmas gift, TNM Head of Region (South), Francis Mwamadi said they made the donation to uplift the spirits of patients by sharing with them some of the food items that many Malawians will be enjoying this festive season.

“Christmas is a time when everyone looks forward to eating the best food and getting treated to something special. But our friends in hospital are not spoiled for choice and we at TNM decided to visit and present them with selected foodstuffs for their eating pleasure,” Mwamadi said.

Mwamadi said the donation represents the goodwill of all TNM employees in the Southern Region.

“As given the objective is to extend the spirit of sharing and love during Christmas and New Year. The festive season is the best time to reach out to those in need as they are faced with numerous challenges that make it difficult for them to afford or access a decent meal,” he said.

In her remarks Acting District Medical Officer Dr Tisunge Kachingwe hailed TNM for remembering patients during this Christmas celebration.

“On behalf of the management let me express our profound gratitude to TNM for remembering our patients here, as you know hospital food is not always good and with these items we believe the patients will have a nice food to eat during this festive season,” said Kachingwe.

One of the recipients Annie Thundwe also thanked TNM for being with them during this festive season.

“ I’m very happy to  receive this wonderful gift from TNM, as you know things are very expensive nowadays and I would not afford to buy this items,” said Thundwe.

Each patient received a pack containing sugar, soap, squash and Likuni Phala.

Employees in the other regions of central and north are expected to make similar donations between Christmas and New Year.
