TNM power 2016 Malawi Open golf

Premier mobile network operator, TNM is proud has said it is set to host golfers to the 2016 Malawi Open from April 9 to April 11th at the Lilongwe Golf Club under the auspices of TNM Business Services, the company’s division that offers broadband internet services.

The Malawi Open is an elite golf tournament organized by the Golf Union of Malawi (GUoM) with sponsorship from TNM. Malawi Open is the largest golf tournament in the country.

TNM Chief Commercial Officer Daniel Makata said the sponsorship of this year’s Malawi Open Golf Tournament highlights the commitment and patriotism of the telecoms operator to golf in Malawi.

Makata said TNM, which has been sponsoring the Malawi Open since 2007, remains committed towards development of the sport which provides a platform for business executives to interact and share notes on a wide range of industry, business and national interest issues.

“The Malawi Open Golf tournament has been one of successful tournaments that has helped in the development of golf in the country as demonstrated by the level of competition that our golfers have shown on the greens locally and international through the participation in the international zone tournaments for the past years,” said Makata.

He added that the Malawi Open golf tournament is also a build-up as it also includes national team golf players who will be participating in this year’s zone six tournament to be played at Royal Swazi Golf Club in Swaziland about 10 local golfers are expected to participate.

Makata said this year’s championship provides also the mobile network and technology company the platform to interact with stakeholders and showcase affordable mobile technology and seamless connectivity it offers to businesses and individuals through its TNM Business Services (TBS)

“TNM is now set to be a total communications provider to companies, SMEs and individual users. Our recent addition of ISP business in TNM gives us the opportunity to leverage on our strengths as a mobile telecoms and internet network service operator offering high speed broadband, e-wimax and e-wifi among other products,” he explained.

The tournament is being headlined by TNM’s  Business Services (TBS) which offers a one stop shop communication solutions for corporates such Broadband, Business Managed Services (WAN/LAN, Web hosting, Email hosting) plus Business Hosted Services such as data centre among others.
