TNM Sapota Mapeto: Bullets pocket K1m, Nomads fan wins TV Screen

Big Bullets have once again demonstrated that it  commands a large football fan base after it emerged as Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) Sapota Mapeto promotion winner in second month running.

Bullets amassed 6066 SMSs from its supporters in the month of August to pocket K1,102,227 in return followed by Mighty Wanderers who will pocket K947,415.00 from 5344 SMSs.

In a second draw of the done on Tuesday, a Wanderers ‘Nyerere’ Balaka-based supporter, Andrew Manja won 42’ Flat Screen LG Tv.

When contacted, Manja was over the moon after winning the prize, and urged football supporters to rally behind their teams by participating in the Sapota Mapeto Promotion.

Manja said: “Most of the teams in the country do not have sponsorship; it is therefore, the responsibility for us supporters to help them. I have never won any competition before and this will make me participate more”.

Speaking to the media, TNM Public Relations Specialist, Brian Mungomo Jnr revealed that a total of 186,065 SMSs have been accumulated since the promotion started in July this year.

“Looking at the current number of SMSs, it is clear now more people have interest to participate in this promotion.

“So far 29,529 people have sent their SMSs realizing K3.9 million in return as revenue for their teams,” said Mungomo.

Mungomo disclosed that the promotion was designed to help supporters express their royalty towards their favorite teams by generating extra revenue through SMSs.

According to the accumulated SMSs, Red Lions are on the bottom after amassed 16 SMSs, translating into K5,000 revenue.

Silver Strikers is on third position with 1112 SMSs pocketing K202,398.

Aside giving out the 42’ Flat Screen LG Tv, TNM also gave out T-Shirts, Footballs as well as G6609 handsets to lucky winners.
