Tony Chitsulo arrested over brawl
Mighty Wanderers player Tony Chitsulo was arrested over the past weekend following a brawl that occurred at a drink joint he operates at Bangwe Township in the commercial city of Blantyre.
While confirming the development to a local Newspaper, Limbe Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Chifundo Chibwezo could not give out more details on the matter as she was reportedly tied up with other assignments.
“I don’t have the details with me presently as I am working on another assignment. It is alleged that he hit a complainant with a bottle following an argument” Chibwezo is quoted by the Daily Times.
According to the Limbe Police PRO, Chitsulo was detained at Limbe Police before being released on Wednesday.
Chitsulo made a controversial transfer from Silver Strikers to Mighty Wanderers which saw him miss game time as the two sides could not agree terms on transfer requirements.
He has since been reported to engage himself with excessive drinking a behavior which started when he was at Silver strikers where he was also sidelined by the club.
