Top 8 Trophy by Airtel Malawi to be launched

Good news to soccer lovers in Malawi, as Airtel  is expected to announce the launch of Top Eight Super League tournament to the tune of K15 million.

Nyasa Times understands that the big launching function will take place on Thursday at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre.

According to information gathered by Nyasa Times, the Champion will go home smile with K15 million.

Teams that are likely to compete in this tournament are Kamuzu Barracks, Nyasa Big Bullets, Blue Eagles, Be Forward Wanderers, Silver Strikers, Mafco, Moyale Barracks and Azam Tigers.

This is unfair trade practice FAM! TNM and Airtel are rivals so why allow Airtel to use TNM sponsored Super League results? Or is it a way of showing us that TNM is on its way out? By the way FAM should put a clause in trophy sponsorship contracts that any organisation wishing to sponsor a trophy should at least be involved in grassroot football by owning a club, jersey or stadium. Clubs are disbanding enmasse due to lack of sponsorship while big companies are out doing each other on trophy sponsorships
