Malawi singer renowned for his spectacular live show Tsika hit maker DJ Sonye real name Sonyezo Kandoje is the first artist to arrive in England for an exclusive performance at this year’s Malawi Achievers’ Awards to be held in Birmingham this Saturday on April 16th 2016 from 6pm prompt to 03:30 Am .
And next to arrive is Afro hip-hop music phenomenon Evance Zangazanga popularly known as Piksy, him of the Unamata fame.
“I am excited to be here and all set for a great performance on Saturday. People should expect good fun, the joy and a night to remember,” said Sonye after arrival from London-Heathrow Airport.
Peter Guga one of the organisers of the Malawi Achievers Awards UK who welcomed Sonye told Nyasa Times: “We are beyond thrilled to welcome Sonye.”
Indeed its gonna be fun at the awards as women would have ruled the red-capert with the glamour of their gowns and then others will get changed to suit the sizziling ‘ Tsika Msungwana, itukule itukele’ song performance and others.
Guga said there is “a double treat” from Malawi.
“Today Sonye has arrived, will be back here again to welcome Pisky,” he said.
Piksy will be joining Sonye and Africa’s international music loyalty, legendary King of Kwassa Kwassa, Kanda Bongo Man at the event. And there is Kazz, the Amina Kadeya performer.
“We are excited to welcome two of the biggest acts from Malawi – Sonye and hip-hop sensation Piksy who will be coming to perform. This year’s awards is shaping up to be a fantastic night of Malawi entertainment in UK.”
The event will be recorded for rebroadcast in Malawi televisions from red carpet to awards presentation, organisers said.
The annual glitz and glamour red carpet event which is aimed at recognising and honouring hardworking and illustrious UK based Diaspora Malawians making a positive change in their communities and country will take place at the magnificent CSN International Conference Centre in Birmingham.
Malawi Achievers Awards is an event organised by Malawi Association UK, an umbrella body for all Diaspora Malawians n the UK and thrives to recognise and honour people who are making a positive difference to the Malawi community in the UK and their country, the warm heart of Africa.
