UDF’s Banda tells Mzuzu to vote for him to improve roads, health service delivery

Malawi opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) aspiring candidate Robert Banda on Monday at Chibavi ground organized a political party meeting calling on Mzuzu residents to vote for him as Member of Parliament and Atupele Muluzi as president in the forth coming 2014 tripartite elections.

Banda said once voted into parliament he will improve the poor -road -network that has rendered most brand-new vehicles un-road -worthy in Mzuzu.

He added that once elected to parliament he will construct more health centers to bring quality service delivery closer to the people.

He noted that due to poor road networks, accidents take place now and again and efforts to get to the hospitals in time is hampered a development that help lives lost.

Speaking at a similar function, UDF’s women director for Viphya Region Chrisy Kanyasyo emphasized the need to vote for a youthful candidate , saying they have the people’s’ welfare at heart than most of the aged contesting, claiming they would only think for themselves because their life span is short.

On his part, the party’s Mzuzu city constituency governor Hassan Musa appealed to men to come in their large numbers to boost the party’s strength saying the current government has failed to provide what it promised and its time they reclaimed government in 2014.

Speaking earlier, the UDF’s 50 Jubilee Movement regional coordinator for the north, Vitumbiko Gondwe stressed the need for people to register in large numbers to effectively vote for Banda and Atupele into office come 2014.
