Peoples Party (PP) has joined other parties to contest in the Mchinji West constituency as party acting president Uladi Mussa took the area by storm, calling President Peter Mutharika to step down.
In his campaign messages to the people, Mussa said Mutharika and his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government have failed Malawians.
“The economy has collapsed, the whole government system has collapsed, corruption is on record high, there is no electricity, there is no water, no maize for the needy,” said Mussa.
He therefore urged Mutharika, who is currently outside Malawi, to step down and let others correct the situation.
But Information minister Maliseni Ndau said Mutharika cannot step down as he is busy fixing problems caused by former president Joyce Banda and her PP led administration.
He said the plunder of K30 billion at Capital Hill by the PP known as cashgate is what has made the economy to be shaky and affected services of goverrnment.
Ndau therefore said Mutharika will fix the problems caused by the PP during its two year stay in government.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
