The launch, which was led by Unilever Malawi Country’s director Chikondi Ng’ombe, took place at their headquarters offices in Limbe.

Ng’ombe said there will be in-store and road show activations that the company plan to run called “Sunlight Bubble Man Campaign.”

She said the promotion has been divided into two groups.

For instance, there is for in store activation, where customers will get an opportunity to win extra sunlight powder after purchasing 500g and 1kg packs.

Ng’ombe also said there is one for road shows activation, where to qualify to win the automatic prizes, customers are to buy either 2x 500g or 1x1kg sunlight powder and get either a bucket or chitenje for free.

“Customers will also get a chance to enter a lucky dip competition by purchasing 1x200g or 2x 100g and stand a chance of winning chitenje, sunlight 100g or a bucket,” said Ng’ombe.

She said the whole campaign has been budgeted at  K40 million.

Sunlight washing powder is a well known homecare brand that has been on the Malawi market for some time. It is available in 3 variants namely, sunrise sensations ( orange), spring sensation ( yellow) and tropical sensations ( pink).

Apart from performing its primary function of cleaning clothes, it also freshens clothes with fabric conditioner and fragrance.
