294 goals scored in first round, 282 cards flushed: Malawi TNM  Super League.

The first round of the 2016-17 Tnm Super League season concluded on Sunday 14th August 2016 with a number of amazing statistics.

According to statistics released by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom), a total of 294 goals have so far been scored with the current leaders Blue Eagles who finished top after accumulating 32 points from 15 games being the highest scorers.

The Eagles have managed to score 29 goals.

Azam Tigers who have finished on position nine with 22 points seem to have the best defence after letting in only nine goals while defending champions Nyasa big Bullets have the most porous defence after letting
in 32 goals.

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers who have finished on position seven remain the only team to lose away and on the contrary are Kamuzu Barracks, Karonga United and Wizards FC who are yet to register away wins.

The 2016 first round has registered five hat tricks two coming from Blue Eagles striker Maxwell Salambula while the other three were scored by Antony Banda of Epac, Gastin Simkonda of Moyale and Peter
Wadabwa of Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.

Wadabwa is the current joint top scorer alongside Richard Mbulu of Mafco FC with 11 goals each.

He was on target on Sunday but his goal counted less as his side lost 2-4 to Mzuni FC who have finished on 5th position.

In all the games played, 282 cards have been flushed [14 being red cards and the rest yellow].

Mzuni FC received most cards totaling 31 (29 yellow and 2 red) followed by Red Lions who received 25 yellow cards and two red cards.

Timothy Chitedze of Silver Strikers can be rated as the most indisciplined player having received seven cards through out the first round followed by Chikoti Chirwa who received six.

The player of the month accolades between April and August went to Gilbert Chirwa of Blue Eagles-April, Lughindiko Mushani of Mzuni FC-May, Thuso Paipi of Silver Strikers-June and finally Peter Wadabwa of Wanderers who scooped the award for the last month of the first round-August.

Bullets have not conceded 32 goals. Lies. I think you meant Max Bullets not the People’s Team

Error. Nyasa Big Bullets is the only team conceded very few goals not 32 goals as veraciously reported

Are you sure Nyasa BB has the most porous defence? Check your statistics or else you just made a mistake please make a correction.
