Vuwa calls for unity of purpose in Malawi
Presidential advisor on National Unity and Parliamentary Affairs, Symon Vuwa-Kaunda called on Malawians to live in unity of purpose if the country is to record significant development.
Speaking in an interview with Nyasa Times, Vuwa-Kaunda warned that very little development will take place in Malawi in the absence of unity of purpose.
He said peace and security is a pre-requisition for national development and attraction of investors.
“As the President, His Excellency Professor Aurther Petere Mutharika is appealing for investors to come to Malawi, we as Malawians need to complement such efforts by living peacefully regardless of our tribal, political and religious difference,” he said.
Vuwa said after the elections, everybody should focus on finding ways to how best the country can be developed.
“This is our nation and development should benefit everyone, we have to forget our imaginary regional boundaries. Everyone should ask himself as to how he can contribute for the country,” he said.
Vuwa said rather than focus on partisan politics, politicians should concentrate their energy dealing with poverty and disease.
