Wadabwa inspires Wanderers to beat Red Lions: Malawi TNM Super League
In form striker Peter Wadabwa scored a hat-trick to inspire Be Forward Wanderers as they clipped Red Lions 3-1 in the TNM Super League match played on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The soldiers from Zomba kicked off the game on a positive note as they pressed for an early goal.
Five minutes into the game ,Innocent Bokosi snaked through Foster Namwera but his shot went wide.
A few minutes later, Red Lions were at it again as they dismantled the Nomads defence only for Kumbukani Mwambene to shoot over the bar.
After 15 minutes into the game, the Nomads resurrected with some fine touches from the back to upfront.
The Nomads, who gelled well were more organised on the centre of the pitch where midfielder of the moment Rafiq Namwera combined well with Ernest Tambe.
On the wings, Isaac Kaliat and Mike Kaziputa gave the soldiers tough time with fine crosses to Peter Wadabwa and Jimmy Zakazaka.
Peter Wadabwa pounced on the loose ball to slot home the first Nomads goal.
Jimmy Zakazaka came close to doubling the Nomads lead before Wadabwa finally extended their advantage in the second half after connecting Isaac Kaliat’s inteligent pass.
Wadabwa then put the game beyond doubt with the third goal sending the Nomads stands on cloud nine as they chanted Sife koma ndi Wadabwa.
After the third goal, the Nomads went to sleep abit as Red Lions reduced the arrears through a free kick.
Sensing danger, the Nomads introduced fresh legs of Amos Bello, Wongani Kaipa for Jimmy Zakazaka and Peter Wadabwa.
Alfred Manyozo also came in for Ernest Tambe.
The visitors were tamed well as the Nomads defended in numbers until the last whistle.
Wanderers coach Edington Ngonamo praised his charges for working hard and assured their fans that the Nomads are back in town.
On the other end,Red Lions coach Prichard Mwanza said it was another bad day in office.
