Wanderers, Silver play mind games ahead of league decider

Silver Strikers coach Stain Chirwa has started the mind games ahead of Tuesday’s title-deciding encounter against Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium by claiming the TNM Super League is for the Bankers to lose.

A draw or a win will see the Bankers being crowned as the Champions while any defeat will mean Moyale Barracks becoming crowned the title.

Speaking during Monday training morning at Kamuzu Stadium, Chirwa said they will go flat out because they are aiming for a win.

“We cannot afford to slip up against Wanderers because all we need is to collect maximum points and win the title,” he said.

“If we win, we should win the league. It is a game we are looking forward to,” he said.

Chipping in was his captain Lucky Malata, who stressed that they will continue where they left in December when they were clobbering the Nomads 1-0 before the match was abandoned.

Malata urged their fans to keep them in prayers as they will not be able to watch the match which will be played on closed-doors.

Super League of Malawi ruled that the game be played without spectators following violence’s that led to the first game abandoned.

However, Mighty Wanderers are aware that any slip up in tomorrow’s game will deny them a chance to finish in top four.

The Nomads coach Stewart Mbolembole warned the Bankers not to underrate them stressing they will be in for it.

“We cannot miss the opportunity of finishing in top four. It will be a difficult game, but losing at your own back yard is always embarrassing,” he said.

The Nomads captain Jacob Ngwira assured their fans that they will accelerate the gear against the Bankers because top four is what they are gunning for.
