Wanderers surrender on title chase, it’s for BB: Malawi TNM Super League
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers has effectively surrendered the TNM Super League title to their rivals Big Bullets after their 1-0 defeat on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium.
The Nomads are 15 points behind the Peoples Team and the club ‘steam manager Steve Madeira does not appear to hold out much hope of catching the leaders.
Bullets are currently basking comfortably on the summit table maintaining their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Madeira said the Nomads “have no chance” of winning the league, “we are not in it.”
“Look at the number of points they have today and if they keep that up nobody will touch them, that’s for sure,” said Madeira
“It doesn’t look like anybody is capable of challenging them at the moment. There’s no obvious reason, but they have had a good league campaign,” said Madeira.
Madeira conceded that they were outplayed by Bullets and saluted his goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa for saving the team to a big embarrassment.
“Congratulations to Bullets for their victory. They really outplayed us and we can a swell rule ourselves out of contention,” said Madeira.
He said they will now focus on the Standard Bank Knockout Cup.
