This is a well written article. Anyone criticising this article has either benefited from the looting of the money or does not understand what is going on in Malawi.I agree that the unfortunate bit of the article is not all Malawians who vote these crooks in will read it. Malawians are too docile to do anything about what is going on with the money which is meant to be for them. Until the ordinary man and woman, educated or not start question our leaders and stop giving them the respect they do not deserve we are doomed. I here politicians… Read more »

One important issue that I have picke up is how Motal Engil was picked to construct the Kasiya road. Can journalists investigate the issue. Don’t forget, it is the contract that was giving Bingu kick backs.

To those that cannot be bothered to read the article I say please don’t waste your time even commenting. You are like all the other lazy BAS…RDS that are dragging this country down.

Leaders need to take the time and have the courage to address problems of their own making. Being wrong and having the ability to change is what makes us human = intelligent beings.

As much as our country needs support on budget, but it is not a good sign that we should be climbing on anti-hills to cry for lack of budgetory support.

Are we going to force the donors to give us money? They have their own problems.

What if we should be crying for citizens’ productivity and conducive environment that support locals to make big investments suh as lowering interests rates for loans, and improving access to export market

Cash gate mismanagement by JB is the real cause of suffering today! How could a Budget Director be shot! How could a mare Clerk found with vindalama in the car boot, house ceilings etc Cash gate started with Kamuzu: we had gost employees in Government, gost houses for rent where Ministry of Lands was paying rent for gost employees etc but nothing was exposed We had a Cheya government where an invoice for local unimported goods was paid before goods were delivered what a method! All these were not exposed as cash gate. We had Bingu with his sophisticated methods of cash… Read more »

The issue here is that only 1 percent of people in Malawi who have an access to a slow internet are the ones who are literate and knowledgeable. The rest 99 percent illiterate who votes have got no any idea what a policy means. They just vote out of blues after being deceived by opportunist masquerading as politicians dangling some carrots during campaign period.Malawi is in a shameful state with its zero aid budget.Pitala and his cohorts are not feeling the pangs because they are feasting on the loot while a common Malawian is in dire poverty.Muluzi,Pitala and Joyce are all swimming… Read more »

This is too good to be understood by the dull leadership we have in Malawi. How I wish all people in Malawi read and understand English and also have Internet access. Izi ndizofunika
