Youth ideas to kick off Lake of Stars: Malawi music festival  

The enormously internationally acclaimed, pride of Malawi tourism – Lake of Stars Festival kicks off this Friday 30th September with a new concept called “Day of Ideas”.Lake of Stars

“Day of Ideas” is a program that will engage youth in creativity, to be inspired and think of ways of improving Malawi.

The event is set to happen on Friday the 30th of September at the festival location, Chinchethe Inn.

Programed from 8am to 3pm; the audience shall be made up of 420 secondary students from schools in Nkhata Bay, 50 deaf secondary students, 30 University of Mzuzu students and 50 Adults.

The event is sponsored by the European Union and the Malawian Ambassador to EU (Michael Gerrmann) is amongst the list of attendees.

The program is filled with fun educative activities for the youth such as speed networking, various workshops centered on creativity, A Pitch night style platform, speeches and mini performances from Festival artists and partners.

The partners are mHub, Art for Global Health, Root to Fruit, Our World International and Beating Heart Malawi; and the Menes, an artist in Malawi and Gabriel an International DJ also giving speeches.

In other news, Tay Grin, Diktator and Ril B have been added onto the list of acts for the festival and Roberto has revealed he shall have 2 guest performers joining his live set.

The Festival officially opens this Friday with box office opening at 12:30pm, music playing from 4pm and the first performance happening at 5:30pm.

A weekend jam packed with arts, culture and entertainment shall not end until the sun has risen on Monday morning,

The last performance ends at 2am and is immediately taken over as guest DJs take over the bar to guide people to the sunrise.
