The 24 year-old and employer of 69 who teaches Biomedical Engineering in the Electrical Engineering Department of the Polytechnic told Nyasa Times in an interview that “we are living in a country that needs technology to advance for its development.”

Said Kaliwo: “We  need technology to protect our properties and to provide a conducive environment for growth.”

He owns  Mechro Systems Solutions and is managing partner at Diamond-Antigen Security Services (DASS) whose both offices are located at the Polytechnic Main Campus.

At Mechro Systems Solutions, he told Nyasa Times, they deal with advanced technology solutions in security, sensory, control systems, mechatronic and electronic technologies.

“We design, implement and repair these systems with remarkable expertise and professionalism,” said Kaliwo.

At DASS Kaliwo said they “provide security personnel solutions by training and deploying security guards to our clients.”

He said they were impassioned to leading service providers in offering technology-based and general day-to-day life solutions to the Malawian society.

Overall, Kaliwo said he “dreams of employing as many people as possible.”

He urged fellow youth to “work hard with an aim of transforming communities around them.”

Said Kaliwo: “Emphasis  should not only be working hard to pass exams and be employed. They need to get knowledge with which they can use to employ others. The problems of this nation await the rising of the youth in creating jobs for themselves and even others.”
