Gwanda Chakuamba dies
Gwanda Chakuamba , the veteran politician who held several top government posts, has died at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in the commercial capital Blantyre where he was receiving treatment after old age complications and long illness.
Chakuamba Phiri was born 4 April 1934.
From the country’s independence in 1964 until 1980, Chakuamba was a key figure within the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), which was the sole legal political party.
During the rule of President Hastings Kamuzu Banda, he held many cabinet positions and was Commander of the MCP youth group Malawi Young Pioneers.
Chakuamba served in the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) , United Democratic Front (UDF) Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and was recently affiliated to former governing Peoples Party (PP).

A hypocrite indeed or a parrot who likes repeating what he has head other people say. So you think the people who died during bandas time were more important than the Njaunjus the chasowas and many more in hospitals that could have been saved. Protruding line of dry bones!
Ten meters from Masauko Chipembere Highway in front of Chichiri Regional Police headquarters just opposite Polytechnic main entrance gate. The dry bones are indeed there in a straight line. Several sources say it was unmarked graveyard from stone age belonging to Akafula’s or the villages resettled to larger Lunzu area by Asamunda or Kamuzu. Its an interesting site for research by any modern archaeologist with knowledge in Carbon Dating and DNA
