1st round to wind up on 3 Sept: Mzuni v Wanderers match

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has officially announced that the 1st round of the 2017-18 TNM Super League Season will come to an end on3rd September 2017.

William Banda: Revised fixture

Initially, the first round games were supposed to be completed by 20th August but due to other factors including Flames Cosafa Castle Cup engagements that resulted into some teams that contributed more players be on standby has forced Sulom to extend the dates.

Sulom General Secretary Williams banda confirmed the changes on Friday.

“We sincerely apologize for the change of dates to finish the firstround. Starting with this weekend, the match Mzuni F.C versus Be
Forward Wanderers scheduled for Sunday has been postponed and will be played on Sunday 27th September 2017.

“This has been done to give Wanderers a chance to travel to Mozambique to represent Malawi as they play an international friendly match against Quelimane City Council team as part of the City’s Anniversary celebrations,” said Banda on Friday.

Banda said all the other remaining matches will be completed by 3rd September 2017.

This means that there are only five games that are supposed to be played this weekend.

Straight from their 1-0 victory over Red Lions on Wednesday, Nyasa Big Bullets will play host to Mafco FC at Chilomoni Stadium while
struggling defending Champions Kamuzu Barracks will play Wizards at Civo Stadium.

Area 30 Police Cops Blue Eagles will be at home against wounded soldiers Moyale who suffered a humilliating 5-1 defeat inflicted by
Wanderers on Wednesday.

Action continues on Sunday as Red Lions take on Mafco in an all soldiers affair at Balaka Stadium while in Lilongwe, it will be a
capital city derby involving Silver Strikers and Civil Sporting Club.
