This is unfortunate that some policemen would be tanishing the image of this institution. Stories of police orchestrated roberies…. possession of arms which at times their source is police environs….. involvement of police in armed robberies…. remember constable Gutas story? …. the list is endless? What a cheap robbery plot! Some of these investigations are carried out for the sake of fulfilling a requirement that robberies should be investigated. Otherwise I don’t see the need for an investigation here. What happened is very clear – a friend of Hara and two robbers employed by the Malawi Police Service plotted to rob Hara, and they did it. Simple and straight forward! The problem is that Malawi Police Service has no way of reading the minds of the people they are employing, so the bosses did not know they were employing robbers.
