3000 tickets on sale for Luciano show
Born Afrikan Productions have put on the market 3000 tickets for celebrated reggae icon Jepther McClymont OD also known as Luciano’s at Silver Stadium on March 28.
In an interview with Nyasa Times, the company’s local representative Mphatso Chaluluka said once they are sold, the charge on the gate might be higher.
” So far we have put only 3000 tickets on the market. It’s better to buy the ticket in advance because once they are sold the charge on the gate may be higher.
“As of now, the market looks very promising in terms of the hype that is building but it is a too early to talk in terms of exact figures on how tickets are performing as we have at least five selling points. However, we expect a lot of sales this week since the show is on this coming Saturday,” he said.
Currently, the tickets are being sold at KIPS restaurant (Shoprite), Steers, Blue Elephant in Blantyre and Papaya restaurant in Lilongwe at a standard MK8,000 and K15 000 VIP.
Chaluluka said fans should expect a lot of changes from the last year’s show of another Jamaican artist Fantan Mojah.
“The main difference with Fantan’s show is that now we have the trust of the people and so they hype is greater and this guarantees a massive turn out. Adding to this, we have a massive stadium venue,
massive sound, UK based sound engineers and great local supporting acts,” he said.
Luciano, is expected to perform with late Lucky Dube’s daughter Nkulee , Born Afrikan alongside local artists like Lucious Banda, Sally Nyundo, Skeffa Chimoto and Soul Riders Band among others.
The show is being sponsored by Carlsberg Malawi.

A stadium like Silver where people will not be restricted to seating around the playing surface but will occupy the playing surface too 3,000 is tiny, very tiny what are you thinking people. 20,000 people should be the maximum, watch the commotion
Akakhala Gwaladi ndiye osapitako koma kufuna kulemeretsa anthu a kunja basi mxii
I can forsee low turnout the price is too high for a Reggae lover you are not been realistic MK8000 is a salary to some Malawians. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Make these shows affordable and depend on turn over. A full stadium at MK2000 could do the magic koma your MK8000 is a minus you will end up regretting but I know things done after taking weed
