The 50-50 Campaign is a good start to achieve a 50-50 representation in parliament. However, it must be noted that political parties will only field candidates, at least for MP’s positions, if they believe the candidates have a chance of getting support/votes from their respective constituencies.. This is where the problem starts. Women generally don’t support each other and therefore highly likely that, given a choice between voting for a man and a woman, they would cast their vote for a man.
