This is disgusting. The ivory should be destroyed. No ivory should be available for sale anywhere and poachers and dealers must be punished severely.

This story gives rise to suspicions that the Government of Malawi is not being straight in the reason it gives for not destroying the ivory. There is much more to this story. The Chinese pay huge sums of money for ivory and the DPP government is very close to the Chinese. Where is the ivory now? The public have a right to know how it is being stored and with what security. Have any court cases dealing with poaching taken place? Much more clarity is needed on this subject. Please keep digging for information and make the results public.
