A well written piece but in Malawi things are not good for the small holder farmer. I have been involved in small holder farming for three years now; every year I have been making losses because there is no viable market for my produce. These small time buyers rip us off so that you end up making losses when they make huge profit from other peoples sweat. Maize is bought at as low as K50 kg or K2500 for a 50kg.
