MCP count this a timely blessing in disguise. A call for real action if u r serious to win. No time to depend on mercy. This election shall be taken by force not academic approach if winning is it goal. leave academic approach to the movement. Humble yourselves and connect with on the ground. If DPP wins again u hv urselves to blame coz it’s dead everywhere. Pipo see each DPP member as a thief. very DPP vehicle as thieved. every DPP cloth as thieved. any voice from DPP guru as corrupt. personally I will blame SKC and Joyce if… Read more »

This is not the problem of people neither the problem of political partirs ,neither of stake holders. Purely this is the problem of MEC..The MEC voter registration patterns have be incositence. In 2008 Voter registration kickstarted in all regions. There were three groups spread over thrree regions with sub regional administrations. This phase regional registration is more regionalistic in nature and can not work along side with faulty machine. The whole exercise has turn out to be a serious political exercise.I listened a DPP rally in north where a certain politician come urging people of north to go and register. The messege is more reginalistic… Read more »

Low turnout has nothing to do with faulty equipment. People are not interested in Chakwera – it’s as simple as that.

To think Mrs Ansah heads a church is unbelievable. This Lady is evil and bent on frustrating MCP. Firstly it was people fed up with current leaders and reluctant to register in large numbers. Now it’s faulty equipment. This lady is going all out to rig on behalf of DPP, her paymaster. Anthu a ku central mwatani kodi? Ntchito ndi mbewa, nyau ndi Ku fwenthera mamina. Inu ndithu osadabwa kuti kalembela nthawi zonse amayamba chigawo cha pakati osati Ku South? This is one way of rigging on behalf of DPP. I bet all MEC members have been palm oiled. Wake… Read more »

Shame on Jane Ansah!! Mai Ansah why have you been hiding these other key reasons stated in this article. Sincerely its illogical to blame people for not registering when your equipment were faulty and or when political party representatives, not just MCP [as initially alleged] were coming late to centres. Abale kodi anthu akumidziwa timawaona ngati chani? Do you appreciate that they equally have other things to do for their survival? How can party officials [DPP, UDF, MCP, AFORD etc] go late and expect them to keep up waiting for you!! Sincerely its stupid to blame Central region people and… Read more »

Mr Central, do you live in Malawi or in the clouds? For your own information, Malawians have no sense of time.Tell them to report for work at 7am you will see them reporting for duties at 9am.Just visit any of the government departments and you will see how lazy Malawians can be.Politics has nothing to do with the late coming of party representatives.Blame Malawian culture.

Sidik Lebwedelebwede Mia, how about the faulty equipment? Is that a weakness of electorate? and Why is MEC avoiding to come straight and apologise on that? Lets learn to be sincere with issues and avoid trying to play it clever always!! Imagine, in 2014 Nkhotakota became DPP stronghold, are they [DPP] concerned with the voter apathy? If yes what have they or are they doing? You will see that they are comfortably seated and doing nothing!! Lets all start raising eyebrows on what is happening because comments mentioned by the previous reporters such as people are saying they can’t register… Read more »

MCP Mps are to blame because they don’t go home to conduct meetings .People needs to informed on the importance of registering and voting .ours are busy enjoying constituency allowance they get from parliament .They only go home when there is funeral to provide coffin not conducting meetings thinking that everything is well. They will be shocked when their colleages from government side will go flat out sensitising their subject to register in large numbers to enable them to vote.
