CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME.I remember back early in the 60s,the mettle of self-reliance was embraced by the people of Malawi from South to North and from East to West with a sense of unwavering tenacity. As soon as Banda began to intoxicate with absolute power, that led him to greed and finally amassed unprecedented financial and material wealth, leaving the people to scavenge for themselves, ultimately the momentum of self-help spirits waned drastically. Now with the coming of the new leadership with a sense of selfishness and one take all,the people of our country feel utterly depraved and left to perish in an everlasting inferno, while… Read more »

Selflessness should start with the ruling elite. Think of your huge convoys, banquets, abuse of MBC, abuse of public resources, your UN entourage, etc. With these in mind it’s hard to expect volunteerism, let alone patriotism. This guy is VERY stupid. How does he expect all ordinary Malawians to be so selfless and self giving when he can’t even hold to account any of his ministers who are abusing their positions for their own benefits! He is sending Chakuamba and all the rich to international hospitals while public hospitals are languishing with no medication! Yet he expects us to be “eager to volunteer” on stupid works while i have to worry about my next meal and whether my child will find the next medication! Screw you and shove your advise!
