Whether anybody is fooling or not fooling somebody is immaterial, the issue is these people are still talking hence Atupele’s presence in cabinet. I said it here and will repeat, as long as they win DPP has nothing to lose if it takes Atupele as a running mate because history has shown that at the end of the day whoever they get even from the same DPP will end up being dumped but DPP will remain in power. Sold UDF to DPP so he doesn’t have a party to represent as it’s presidential candidate. Politics of family have killed UDF, never to rise again. DPP know he is valueless, he can’t bring votes. They don’t need him either in Machinga, they told him openly “ukayimire Kwa amako.”

Atupele is ready to contest as a president. He won’t present these papers to MEC. He just want want to give pressure to DPP so that his demands can be met.
In negotiating walking out/away is used to bargain for your cause and position. This could be a strategy if the discussion are still under way with DPP. You pretend to abandon the negotiation so that your partner moves closer to your demands. The partner DPP after seeing that he has collected his papers will rethink its stand and counter offer. We are about 120 days before elections anything can happen.
Why does DPP need a partnership? I thought a VP doesn’t bring votes hence his nature is irrelevant.? Remember what you said about APM+ Chilima combination.
