President Peter Mutharika has met Prince Harry of the United Kingdom (UK) who was visiting Malawi and UK government has announced...
The story has not revealed what courses the glass building is going to offer, what’s the selection criteria is there, the goals of the institution, what makes them unique and why students should go to them. In fact who are the teachers and where will they come from? What qualifications will they have? What’s the fees? What are the ethos of the institution? Universities should properly be regulated lets not be fooled by big buildings with nothing of substance happening inside of them. Take a microscopic look at these institutions lest we regret
At national state, Malawi should not allow its name dragged through the mud by failing to vet these institutions. Surely, for a national university to carry such a name requires benchmark standards that aligns it to prevailing institutions. International academic reputation of its teachers, administrators and governors must also be at par and recognised by all existing outstanding regional universities. Short of that, this will prove to be a scandal in waiting…what is indeed ‘misleading’, ‘mis-selling’, ‘misrepresentation’, ‘fraud’, etc.

I just hope that the government is aware of these people. See their curricula, before they start and who will attend their college. Fees will be very high such that ONLY their kind will attend.
Well this is good news for the country but let’s not forget what people are earning so try to come with reasonable fees because it won’t make sense to have this facility and yet parents can’t afford to pay fees then it will be a waste so let’s try to be reasonable on fees this can be a great opportunity for our kids as well as the nation as a whole
Truly, now my beloved country is into carry on education(no child left behind system) Secondly, sad to be surrounded by FLY BY NIGHT OVERSEAS UNIVERSITIES!!!!
