BeForward four-team tournament at K7m

Be Forward four-team tournament involving Bullets FC, Mighty Wanderers, Silver Strikers and Epac to be played this weekend at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe is budgeted at K7 million with the winners set to pocket at K2 million.

The tournament organised by Japanese company dealing reconditioned vehicles has set aside the K7 million to cater for transport, accommodation, allowances and prizes.

Rashid Mtelera said the champion for the two-day tournament would pocket K2 million, runners-up K1 million, third placed team K500,000 and a consolation prize of K250,000 for the fourth placed.

“The sponsor has pumped in K7 million to cover all logistics of the tournament including prizes, allowances, travel and accommodation,” Mtelera said.

He said the sponsor settled for the four teams considering the large number of supporters they command to market its brand.

All the participating players would get K2,500 allowance.

Bullets General Secretary Harold Fote said they would participate in the tournament having been assured that they would not be duped as it has been the case in previous two competitions.

“We will not be taken for granted and we have trust in the organising committee,” Fote said.

Bullets FC and Epac are set to kick off the tournament on Friday with Mighty Wanderers and Silver game being a late kick off on the same day.

The winners in Friday games qualify for the final while the losers will fight for third place honours.

Which is which? Silver verses Bullets or Epac verses Bullets….. To my understanding, K2, 500 is for players allowance. I think its better off than nothing. What should worry us is Are the Sponsors going to full fill what they have promised……
