I feel very sad with my President is surrounded with people who are not helping. Those contractors deserve nyakula and Mikuyu prison. We have children who take Malawi to be their home and all the stupidity we are doing these kids will pay for that.

If you are a resident of Blantyre, come to Chirimba in Blantyre and walk from what is commonly called ma Land Rover to Chileka Road. Perhaps the honorable minister minister should see this road. I am speechless to describe what is happening with the construction of this road. Is it incompetence, lack of experience, talk of engineers? Really? Where are the counselors? Who oversees this work? I smell a rotten rat. And then comes the comment of the minister?

All this is underlined with corruption. The inspectors of works , Engineers and contractors collude to do ashody job so that they can pocket the money for personal gain . We don’t love our country. We dont care about developing our country. Example , allowing residents to build security fences of grass in the city . Its not done in othersr countries even here in Africa. All this is typical of poor standards. where are the city planners and regulators of standards?

zimbabweans dont trust their contractors. What they have done is to engage a south african company to construct roads and tollgates. i enjoyed one such road from Harare to bulawayo then to Plumptree a distance of about 600km. Im told Mugabe has commission the construction of the Beitbridge to harare up to Chirundu boarder post Zambia. Thats a distance of about 1100kms. Lets do the same Kamuzu used to engage south Africans to construct various notable roads and buildings. After all Mota engil and the local constructors have disappointed us. Its better to pay a lot now for something with… Read more »

One of them is the Lilongwe West Bypass road. Right from day one, it had uneven surface despite contractor using Asphalt (AC). Here, we are talking about a major contractor with international repute who constructed this road. Political interference can, indeed, compromise workmanship.

Yes, kumbotyambotya waka nadi. M 1 Road constructed by the
former & late Dr H. Kamuzu Banda, up to now most of it looks
good. Unmentained up to today. It was KIA Company which did
that EXCELLENT JOB. Long lasting Tarmarc road is supposed to have
Crash Line, Concrete, then finish it with what you do,small quarry
stone, Bitumen then Large quarry stone.
