They have played 12 games and will conclude the first round campaign against Airborne Rangers and Epac FC, respectively.

Bullets, widely known as The People’s Team, is targeting first round K1 million prize that is given to league leaders by the sponsors, TNM.

“We want to conclude the first round with the unbeaten record and we don’t want to drop any point. We are also eyeing K1 million prize. We need the money, as such we will fight tooth and nail to finish the first round on position one,” said veteran forward Chiukepo Msowoya, who scored seven goals so far.

Sources have told Nyasa Times that should Bullets conclude first round on position one, the K1 million prize money will be shared among all the players, “the club will not get even single tambala”.

“We have assured the players that the money will be theirs should they win the remaining two games in the first round. Ideally, we want to motivate and encourage as we look to defending to the championship. So if the conclude first round on position one, the money will be shared among them, the club will not get anything,” said one of the sources, who asked for anonymity.

Meanwhile, 79 matches have been played, registering 186 goals so far.

With 22 goals to their credit, Bullets are the highest scoring team while Salima based outfit, Mafco F.C have disciplined back-line having letting in only six goals.

Rookies Dedza Young Soccer have porous defense having collected the ball 20 times behind their goal line.

Over the week, giants, Civo United managed to collect their first full points after edging their city rivals Silver Strikers 0-2 at their own backyard.  Dedza Young Soccer also managed to collect their first point away after holding Red Lions 1-1 in Balaka.

Airborne Rangers ended Blue Eagles’ unbeaten run with 2-0 home win on Sunday at Chitowe.

Mzuni F.C and Civo remain winless at home while Airborne Rangers, Epac F.C, Dedza Young Soccer and Surestream F.C (now FISD Wizards) are yet to claim victory away.

Bullets,  Be Forward Wanders and Red Lions are yet to record a loss away, according to Super League of Malawi (Sulom) fixture officer Patrick Chisale.

Red Lions forward Innocent Bokosi is currently leading in the battle for the golden boot with eight goals.

Justin Kamanga and Richard Chande (all Epac FC) and Chisomo Mpachika of Dedza Young Soccer also appear on score sheets for own goals (OG).

Top Scorers are: – 8 goals – Innocent Bokosi  (Red Lions),  7 goals – Chiukepo Msowoya (Big Bullets) and Green Harawa (Silver Strikers),  6 goals – John Malidadi Jnr (Blue Eagles),  Jaffali Chande (Big Bullets) and Harvey Mkacha (Kamuzu Barracks),  4 goals – Paul Phiri (Mafco F.C), Nelson Kangunje (Civo United) and Muhammad Sulumba (Be Forward Wanderers).
