Bullets held: Chikwawa earns first point in Malawi TNM Super League

Chikwawa FC on Sunday earned a first point in the TNM Super League after holding leaders Big Bullets to a 1-1 draw in match played at Kalulu Stadium.

Bullets could have gone top had they won the game but were frustrated the rookies in the league.

The Lower Shire giants hope the draw will inspire them to survival beyond this season.

Coach Richard Fosiko said first point was deserved.

“It’s a deserved point. We fought for it and this will mark the start of collecting points so we can remain in the Super League,” said Fosiko.

Chikwawa general secretary Evans Saiti said they learnt in the three weeks that experience is vital in the Super League and reacted by signing three players Vincent Chinthenga (free agent), John Banda and Isaac Maluwa from Evirom and Azam Tigers respectively.

In Dedza, Kamuzu Barracks drew with Karonga United 2-2 while Moyale defeated Azam Tigers 1-0.
