Kananji said one of the teams that triggered his defection to the team’s archrivals Mighty Be Wanderers was unpaid arrears in salaries and game bonuses for five months.

He said despite that he left the club at the start of the season Bullets are yet to clear the outstanding dues.

“Bullets are owing me salaries for five months and game bonus which they never paid at the time I left for Wanderers. I have been pushing for me to get my dues during the season but to no avail,” Kananji said.

He declined to disclose the accumulated amount but inside sources confided that it is in excess of K700,000.

The soft-spoken but down-to-earth coach is optimistic of getting his dues with Bullets’ sponsors , Nyasa Manufacturing Company, expected to improve the club’s financial position.

“We are discussing and they have assured me that with the coming in of their sponsors they will pay me,” he said.

“As a human being I could understand their financial problems that’s why I did not want to squeeze them.”

Bullets legend Gilbert Chirwa is another victim of being owed substantial amount in form of unpaid salaries and game bonuses.

Wanderers are also grappling with former coaches Kannock Munde and Albert Mpinganjira and team manager Tom Milanzi outstanding woes. I

n an ambush-like style Mpinganjira once seized money from Wanderers General Secretary Mike Butao pressing for his pay while Milanzi had a nasty scuffle in broad-day-light in the commercial city of Blantyre with chairman George Chamangwana over his unpaid dues.

Both Mpinganjira and Milanzi have disclosed that negotiations were at an advanced level with Wanderers executive to be paid.
