Callista, chidren divisions continues over Bingu wealth
Former President Bingu wa Mutharika’s family of his wife Callista and her step children is still divided and cannot see each other eye to eye over the alleged K92 billion estate the former head of state left.
Callista, not in black mourning attire which she had donned on such occasions in the past years, did not even give a handshake to the former president’s children neither did she speak to them.
The children looked isolated, rejected and dejected at the Bingu Memorial Mass Service held at village Kamoto village in Chief Chimaliro’s area in Thyolo on Saturday.
Some reports say the children did not even lay wreaths at Mpumulo wa bata at Goliati where Mutharika and his first wife Esther lay side by side.
Callista, who married Mutharika two years after the death of his wife has been embroiled in family fight for the control of late Bingu’s wealth including the multimillion Ndata House.
The former first lady and the children have even fought legal battles in courts over the multibillion wealth which some sections of society allege is a loot from state coffers.
President Peter Mutharika, who was the guest of honour at the memorial service looked helpless and hopeless on the matter.
He might be bringing the broken family behind the curtains to pacify them.

Maybe she needs to grow up and be the adult in this matter. Misunderstandings are normal but ignoring the children at such an event is shameful.
Family needs to be united in public eyes and fight in private.

@analyst. That’s good piece of advise. Why remarry at old age? and again when you have amassed so much wealth it clear whosoever is coming in is not in there for marriage but wealth.; so sad
