Malawi is a free country, Anyone can contest any public office including that of President. Bushiri and even myself are no exception provided we adhere to the set requirements. God never intended this country to be governed by only the few elites who end up messing up our economy and making the majority their slaves..We need a turn around strategy politically. .These other guys have been tested and found wanting……
The challenge with such issues is that everyone has his/her own personal view. There is no wrong or right answer. Bushiri will have to run Government through civil service and not through his employees. Running Government in Malawi is a totally a different ball game. People will expect Bushiri to use his personal resources to run Government and that can only drain him financially. If I were Bushiri I would rather continue to run my Ministry and businesses and leave politics aside. Examples abound people have become bankrupt after attempting to join politics. Success in business is better than the failure of all other politicians in Malawi. You talk of Trump? Even as a so called failure he has raised the US stock market by 300% in 6 months. Has the Malawi stock market even gone up 20% in 10 years?

To me this article is also carefully designed to promote or sell the brand of Bushiri. So don’t ask the people yet you have already made the conclusion. He is a Malawian so he is free to contest & if the majority of Malawians vote for him then he can become a leader. Is he gonna be a good leader? Personal view is NO.
