Carlsberg Malawi kits out semi-finalists: Addidas uniform
Carlsberg Malawi on Thursday lived to its word by presenting uniforms to the four semi-finalists of the 2015 edition of the prestigious Carlsberg Cup.
The teams got a set of Addidas uniform each worth of K5.2 million (including branding) comprising of 30 jerseys, shorts and socks during a ceremony held at the Football Association of Malawi ofices in Chiwembe.
The four teams that got the uniforms are, Big Bullets, Mighty Wanderers, Silver Strikers and Moyale Barracks.
Carlsberg Malawi senior Brands Manager Twikale Chirwa said the donation was part of the company’s tradition since they started sponsoring the tournament and that they want to take the game of football in the country further.
“For the past years we have always been dressing the top teams in the competition. This is aimed at making the tournament exciting and colourful. These jerseys also bear names of players on the back,” said Chirwa.
“We commend Fam for a good job done so far and we hope we will have a violence free competition. Otherwise soccer fans should expect lots of excitement and enjoy the semi-finals this coming weekend,” said Chirwa.
Fam general secretary Sugzo Nyirenda thanked Carlsberg Malawi for its continued support in developing football in the country.
“Carlsberg has been with us for quite a while and have always fulfilled their pledges just like today. We promise to organize very successful and entertaining semi-finals,” said Chirwa.
Mighty Wanderers team manager Steve Madeira spoke highly of the quality of the uniforms which he said will motivate the teams to work hard.
“Players feel good when they are nicely dressed and that makes them to perform well,” he said, before Big Bullets Team Manager Rahim Ishamel echoed his sentiments.
Moyale Barracks official Victor Nyirenda also hailed Carlsberg Malawi for the jerseys stating it will boost their morale in camp, while Silver Strikers executive member Chatheka Mangazi also saluted Carlsberg for their donation.
According to Fam Competitions manager Gomegzani Zakazaka, the semi-finals are on this weekend with Civo Stadium in Lilongwe hosting Mighty Be Forward Wanderers against Moyale Barracks on Sunday after Big Bullets and Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium
However, in all the venues before the games fans will be treated with activation Checken Pub where they will various things from tickets to enter inside the stadium.

Awarding jerseys according to the way the outcome will be: i.e. Mighty Wanderers on top, then Silver Strikers as runners up, Moyale third the Bullets as chiseka khomo.

Sponsor netball as well. They are making us proud internationally. They need good welfare and playing grounds. The central region does not have sponsorship for years not.
