Wanderers executive officials presented the prize to Father Rapoza during the team’s Super League game against Azam Tigers in which both teams settled for a one-all draw.

Father Rapozo, who is a Parish Priest for Nsanama, said he sent SMS message amounting to K6,000 (US$10).

He also disclosed that his passion about football and Mighty Wanderers started while he was young and before he was ordained priest.

“We always have different taste in our lives some like music and some watching football just as me. So I have always been a Wanderers supporter that’s why I decided to participate just to help the team,” he said.

“Winning is just a bonus and I think God for this because I didn’t expect to win such a big prize from the SMSs I had sent.”

He also disclosed that he won K200,000 in the same competition during monthly draws.

Wanderers Chairman Alex Machila said the winning for Father Rapozo underlines that the promotion was open to many people not only the team supporters.

“This promotion was launched after our sponsors Be Forward were impressed with the Noma Yathu promotion which we gave out a minibus as grand prize besides several consolation prizes,” Machila said.

He appealed to supporters to support such promotion in order to help the team generate extra revenue.
