Police said they arrested Cedep district coordinator in Mangochi, Kenneth Chimombo, for allegedly sexually assaulting a Form Four male student at his home.

Chimombo, who hails from Mtalimanja Village, Traditional Authority Ntaja in Mangochi has been charged with indecent assault which is contrary to section 186 of the penal code, according to Mangochi police spokesman Rodney Maida.

The boy, name withheld, is reported that Chimombo had shaved his private parts when he visited his home.

He reportedly got unconscious and Chimombo started shaving him the hair from chest to his private parts and then he reportedly regained his conscious.

Police said some information is not corroborating but they are still investigating.

Court has since released Chimombo on bail.

Another Cedep officer Ishmael Makhuludzo, 29 was arrested in 2014 on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy (name withheld) at Luwinga Township in Mzuzu city.

Cedep boss Gift Trapence confirmed the arrest, but had no “sufficient information.”

However, CEDEP boss said organisation’s position on minority rights remains clear.

“We support the decriminalization of laws, which criminalize consensual sexual acts. Any non-consensual act regardless gender or age involved is unacceptable and should be dealt with by the criminal justice system,” Trapence told Nyasa Times.

Next time it will be the leader himself (Trapence) engaging in this evil act if he does not do it already. Shame on you servants of the evil one.

Makhuludzo also scooped an international award at the Chevrolet Feather Awards in Johannesburg in 2015 for his remarkable championing of human rights for gay people in Malawi.

Makhuludzo case was total blackmail. Greatson Mkandawire and his family are just very broke and poor…… they concocted a false story over Makhuludzo… When these young boys see gay rights activists making noise and flying around the world frequently, they tend to believe they have billions of dollars in their bank accounts…. A false medical report was produced by a relative of Greatson Mkandawire who is not authorized to conduct such examinations. .. Makhuludzo is a free man…. and was compensated heavily for defamation of character

#9 Kondwani,

Did the Makhuludzo case actually go to trial where he was acquitted, or were the charges dropped before any trial took place?

Makhuludzo has a lot of money and was only blackmailed by this jealousy guy named Greatson Mkandawire. Makhuludzo was acquitted kale kale due to lack of evidence. Greatson is 22 years old. Please do thorough investigations before publishing stories

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe,is unreservedly right when he calls gays and lesbians ‘…worse than dogs and pigs.’They must be rounded up and thrown in jail for upsetting the natural social order.

Mangochi people are the most stupid to allow CEDEP to open an office there. But if it were nkhumba shop they would have closed the shop. The CEDEP people must be stoned to death. They are enticing youth with money and promises for jobs. Burns there offices. Homo is not allowed in Malawi and very challenging for CEDEP to pilot their activities in such muslim area
