Hi Mabvuto Banda, just a point of correction. Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda did not die in 1992, rather he died in November, 1997. Unless you are referring to his iron fist rule, that would make some sense because this was a period when there was pressure from all corners of the country when Catholic Bishops issued their first pastoral letter highlighting the ills of one party system of government and the likes of Kamlepo Kalua and Unandi Banda were busy pilling pressure on MCP to allow multi-party politics through Channel Africa’s Chichewa service. Hi Mabvuto Banda, just a point of correction. Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda did not die in 1992 rather he died in 1997. Unless you are referring to his iron fist rule, I would not agree to your article. Yes, his iron fist rule ended in 1992 when press groups emerged in the country and the likes of Kamlepo Kalua and Unandi Banda were all over on Channel Africa Chichewa service then.
