Mighty Be Forward Wanderers chairman George Chamangwana says he wants to continue on his post and will seek re-election during the annual general meeting scheduled for February 6.
In November last year, the supporters sacked the George Chamangwana-led executive committee and appointed the club’s former secretary general Chipiliro Mpinganjira as interim chairperson.
It followed a string of poor results which all but condemned the Lali Lubani outfit’s chances of winning the Super League title for the first time in 10 years.
But Chamangwana said he has “delivered” in the two years he has been at the helm of Lali Lubani Road club and wants “continuity” by having another term.
The club’s secretary general Mike Butao also wants to seek new mandate.
“We have achieved tremendous things,” said Butao.
He credited the current leadership of the club for securing sponsorship from Japanese car exporter, Be Foward, which he said has been extended.
The club trustees’ board chairperson Rashid Gaffar has also thrown his weight behind the current executive.
Last season, the Nomads finished fourth in the TNM Super League, won the Carlsberg Cup and finished as runners-up in the Standard Bank Knockout Cup.
