Never mind hiring freezes or promotions.

What the Civil Service needs, as well as a lot of the private sector, is hiring on merit.

Not due to tribal connections, relationships through blood or marriage, religious or social connections.. and so on.

This is a problem we share with much of the developing world.

It would maybe also reduce corruption significantly across the sectors.

We need to change this mindset.

President Peter Mutharika while I give you two points for urging new graduates at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) to change their mindset and stop thinking about farming as a job for the uneducated.

I, through this page, want to urge you too to change your mindset and stop the attitude of leaving your henchmen continue with different forms of stealing and or cashgates under your leadership!! Mr President amene akukuzani zimenezi sindiye kuti amadana nanu iyayi koma kufunila zabwino dziko lathu!

Chonde stop nepotism, tribalism and laissez-faire leadership! Madala mutionongela dziko inuuuuuuuuu!

I plead with the youth to take charge, for the elders and supposedly wise political leaders, have failed you. Its sad how far we have sidelined the youth; how far we have disfranchised them as if they don’t exist. Its very disturbing how the so called political leaders have continuously used these youths for their votes only to dump them once voting is over. They talk about uplifting the youth only when the elections are close but all the pro-youth policies are thrown out of the window and never get implemented. I urge the youth to go and vote in… Read more »

On point Nhlane. Following this circular that there will no longer be promotions, hardworking civil servants will engage the WAYE (work as you earn) gear – bola wachongetsa ku ntchito. This is one of the worst policy decisions made in the run-up to 2019.
