I would appreciate if the Honorable’s remarks were uttered like “THE GOVERNMENT IS HAPPY THAT MAIZE IS AVAILABLE IN ALL ADMARCH DEPOTS TO ENABLE EVERY MALAWIAN TO BUY AT A COMPETATIVE PRICE UNLIKE IN THE PAST WHEN ONLY VENDORS WERE BUYING IN BULK AT A CHEAPER PRICE AND SOLD TO THE POOR AT HIGHER PRICE WHILE THE POOR WERE ONLY ALLOWED TO BUY 10kgs ONLY”

It is disturbingly melancholy for Chaponda who is a Minister and also Muthalika’s die-hard surrogate to mimic our country’s population in the wake of supporting the government’s treacherous high maize price in the wake of Malawi’s ill-starred economic footing in the history of our country. This is the case when the President runs the nation on tribalistically oriented leadership.I have no doubts in my mind that Malawi will never reach the economic level that will kick-start economic revolution in our country. It is an open observation that President and his adherents are deeply involved in amassing unprecedented wealth while the overwhelming majority… Read more »

APM fails construct 5 universities & fails to reintroduce recall provision. It’s indeed the presidents haif way in his term without fulfilling what he promised in the manifesto . Inflation continues to rise & service delivery from Escom, Waterboard e.t.c overwhelmingly shattered. Nothing is working in beloved Malawi & the high illiteracy levels making it easy for greedy, rotten politicians to continue raping the fragile system. 577 billion cash gate scandal swept under Dpp decorated rug fooling poor Malawians with cosmetic reforms chaired by the Vice President! I believe 2019 is a defining moment for all Malawians & your vote… Read more »

Almost everyone now knows that this man is a devil. Sikuti ndiwonyasa nkhope yokha ndi mtima womwe. This is a fucked up guy who’s misleading APM big time to advance his selfish agendas. Satan must really wipe this man ass out of Malawi. He is not necessary, we don’t want him. He’s just an old, useless and devilish piece of shit.

Daily Times are being disingenuous here: they are presenting their own interpretation of what Minister Chaponda said. There is no way the minister would be happy with the plight of the poor. No way, as he’s simply not that callous. The key to his speech is “competition”: vendors now have competition in ADMARC, and that is good. No? Instead of chiding the Minister, Daily Times and their coterie should be commending him for straightening out the mess that was in ADMARC before he took over its parent ministry. And by doing so, he’s giving vulnerable Malawians a chance at life.… Read more »
