Of-Course they be paid also check who is Malawians not taking bribes. Chiefs in Likoma are selling other peoples land especially for those called Karongas. Everyone calling through that boardary claiming they are from Karonga/Chitipa. Many Liklma/Chimuzus are abroad but their villages are still there. There are Many Swahilis in Likoma doing business. They can do business but Chiefs should not sell other People land.Likoma is for Likoma/Chizumu are for Islanders full stop. Chiefs will be sued.

I thought so too. They can’t be spending hours on end for nothing. I felt for my chief as she was performing the duty. Pay them or let them move on wth their productive lives. The money u use to fund BLUE NIGHT can do. Safuna zambiri but appreciation for their work. Mind u, their stamp and signature is 80% way above the rest of identification features.
