Chimango Kayira hints at Nyasa Bullets return

Malawi national team midfield workhorse Chimango Kayira says he would like to return to play for Nyasa Big Bullets soon after he has seen out his remaining two year contract with a Mozambican club side Costa Du Sol.

Kayira, who’s popularly known by the nickname ‘Blackberry’,  joined Bullets on loan from ESCOM United in 2011 and sealed a permanent move a year later where he had a successful three year spell.

The midfield maestro was part of the squad who lifted the presidential cup in 2012 ending the peoples’ team 10 year trophy drought.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana) the Malawi national team midfielder Kayira, said once he has seen out his contract he will return to BB because he still has more to offer to the team.

Kayira further said he was motivated to return to the People’s team because of fantastic morale the team’s faithful display and he described them [BB fans] as best supporters in the world.

“The relationship between the fans and the team is so great and because of the love and unbelievable support they have for the team I’m motivated to play there again,” he said.

“They still support me even after I am no longer there and I do not take that for granted and I would love to return to show them my appreciation,” he added.

Kayira further said even though Malawian and Mozambican football leagues have their own different style of play and environment he has managed to adapt within the two years he been playing for Costa du Sol and he said the transition has been positive.

“The Mozambique top flight league is more professional than Malawi’s super league, the setup and tactical approach is rich in intelligence with that I feel I can offer Bullets a lot and with what I have picked up, I can help to nurture upcoming young players too,” he explained.

Chimango Kayira joined Costa Du Sol from Bullets in 2014 on a free transfer and in the two years he has been away the peoples team has gone on to dominate the Malawi Super League with two successive league titles.
