Chipuwa demands new deal: Admits to possible Nomads exit

Mighty Be-Forward Wanderers risk losing goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa to either Blue Eagles or rivals Big Bullets
unless they meet his contract demands, Nyasa Times understands.

The goalkeeper who is enjoying a fine form and his consistent displays helped the Nomads to win the Mayors Challenge Trophy after serving a penalty against Bullets.

However, Chipuwa is out of contract at the end of the season and understandably he’s been linked with a whole host of top clubs both here in the TNM Super League and outside the country.

Nyasa Times understands  Big Bullets,  Blue Eagles and a Mozambican club  are all keen on luring the Nomads custodian  away from  Lali-Lubani road and are prepared to tempt him with a contract worth a huge amount of money.

Chipuwa told Nyasa Times  that while he  wants to finish his career with the Nomads , they must ‘wake up’ and meet his  demands to be offered a contract  or he will “100 per cent” leave the club.

“I  will leave 100 per cent for sure unless Wanderers  wake up and offer me  new good terms. I want to finish my  career at Wanderers  as long as the club give me the right deal.” Chipuwa told Nyasa Times.

If he does end up leaving the Lali-Lubani road, Coach Kannock Munde  is going to find it extremely difficult to find a player capable of filling his boots and it would be a double blow if Chipuwa  was to join a domestic rival,.

“I am not asking too much, but football is a short career and you need to make money while you’re in top form, “said Chipuwa.

Chipuwa said it is high time players are given contracts like what happen in other countries.

“Supporters should understand that this is a job and we have a duty to feed our families,” he added.
